Job Title: Volunteer Film Curator - Midlands Film Archive

 

The Midlands Film Archive (www.midlandsfilmarchive.com) is seeking a passionate Volunteer Film Curator to join our community-based initiative. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to grow with our organisation and take ownership of our film curation efforts.The Midlands Film Archive is a showcase of films made by talented creatives living or originating from the Midlands, UK. We aim to celebrate and promote the best storytelling from the region by bringing together exceptional films in one place. Our mission is to strengthen the filmmaking community, encourage collaboration, and provide a permanent home for quality films made in the Midlands.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Curate and manage our film collection, determining which films are featured in our archive

• Create and manage social media campaigns to source new films and engage with our community

• Serve as the primary point of contact for filmmakers, distributors, and community members

Ideal Candidate:

• Knowledge and interest of film history, particularly regional short films from the Midlands

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Experience with social media management and content creation

• Ability to work independently and take initiative

• Passion for film preservation and community engagement

​

This volunteer position offers significant potential for growth within our organisation. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping our film curation initiative and future development, helping us discover new voices, showcase existing talents, and strengthen the vibrant and diverse filmmaking community in the Midlands.
